Another cherished Hollywood union appears to be over. On Twitter, comedians Rhea Butcher and Cameron Esposito announced their separation.
Esposito stated in her statement, “Rhea & I are splitting to live independent lives for a while. “We are doing this because we genuinely care about one other. We’re going to discuss it with our buddies and act rather discreetly in public. I appreciate your consideration and patience.
The 2015 newlyweds have made a career out of discussing their personal lives. They collaborated on a 2017 stand-up album called Back to Back, a 2016 sitcom called Take My Wife that aired on the doomed network Seeso, and the Put Your Hands Together podcast, which they record once a week at the U.C.B. Theatre in Los Angeles.
After their first year of marriage, Esposito, a columnist for the A.V. Club, offered his thoughts on their relationship for the website in 2016. “Our current life was out of my reach when I first met you. Even if we had chosen to disregard prudence, we couldn’t have obtained a marriage license at that time, she added. “I couldn’t figure out how to move on, so we were engaged for more than two years.”

Esposito and Butcher have not indicated what will happen to their joint professional endeavors. Their split may serve as material for future projects if their prior work is any indicator. Esposito with Query and Butcher with Three Swings are each now working on their own independent podcasts.

“Cameron and I are splitting up to lead separate lifestyles for a while. We are doing this because we genuinely care about each other. We’re going to discuss it with our buddies and act rather discreetly in public. Thank you for being nice and understanding, Butcher wrote in his message.
Cameron & I are separating to live individual lives for a time. We care very much about each other & that’s why we’re doing this. We’re gonna talk to our friends about it & be pretty private in public. Thanks for your kindness and understanding.
