Since the debut of her TV series Our Yorkshire Farm, Amanda Owen has become a worldwide celebrity. But who is the Yorkshire Shepherdess?
Discover all there is to know about Amanda, her family, their farm, and her popularity on TV. Shepherdess Amanda Owen also works as a writer and broadcaster, although she is best known for managing a huge family farm in the Yorkshire Dales.
She originally rose to attention in 2011 when she and her family—husband Clive, their five oldest kids—appeared regularly on the Adrian Edmondson documentary series The Dales for ITV.
The Owen family’s television career was launched by the show, which followed diverse residents of the Yorkshire Dales. In 2015, they were cast in an episode of Ben Fogle’s Channel 5 program New Lives in the Wild UK.
When Ben Fogle: Return to the Wild came out in 2021, the family had already started their own TV series and by that time had nine kids.
Since it began broadcasting in 2018, Our Yorkshire Farm has made a big star out of Amanda, also known as The Yorkshire Shepherdess.
About her experiences as a shepherdess, Amanda has published five novels.

It stated: “The news that Clive and I have decided to end our relationship makes both of us sad. It hasn’t been simple, but we both think this is the best option for our family’s future. Our first concern is the happiness and wellness of our children, and we continue to work on the farm and parent together.
We want to express our gratitude to everyone for their support and ask that the media respect our privacy as we get through this trying period.”

The couple, who have a 20-year age difference, originally generated marriage-related rumors last October.
Since the middle of the 1990s, when Amanda, a Huddersfield native who worked as a contract shepherd, was dispatched to Ravenseat Farm to retrieve a ram, they have been together.
After divorcing his first wife, Clive had two adult children. He was the first resident of Ravenseat, a property that is a part of Swaledale’s Gunnerside sporting estate. They got hitched in 2000.
It was made public last month that the couple had submitted a joint application to the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority to turn a run-down farmhouse near Ravenseat into a residence, opening the door to the potential that one of them would move there.
