Before his first Thanksgiving as a single father of three children—Vivian, 9, Benjamin, 12, and Jack, 15—Tom Brady spoke about fatherhood.
While going through his divorce with Gisele Bündchen, Tom Brady is concentrating on football and his family as he completes his 23rd season with the NFL.
Brady underlined that he wants to be the “best dad” he can be to his children in a recent episode of his podcast “Let’s Go!”.
“I think myself as a parent and being grateful during Thanksgiving, it’s always time for family,” he told NBA star Charles Barkley during the episode. “When you think about this holiday and the commitment that parents make and that my parents made to me and my career is unbelievable. You know what I mean?”
Brady also reflected on his parents’ influence on his career, telling the audience, “You can do it, son,” which helped him succeed.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion continued, “I simply want to be that for my kids.”
With his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, Brady has a son named John, who is 15 years old. He also has two children with Gisele Bundchen, Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and supermodel’s 13-year marriage was reportedly on the rocks due to his choice to “un-retire” and the fact that he was more concerned with his career than his children.
Brady, though, has been spotted spending more time with all of his children since it became public knowledge of the marital conflict.
“In recent days my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage,” Brady wrote. “We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.”
Bündchen added: “The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always.
The NFL quarterback was beaming in a video posted on Instagram on Sunday discussing the new Gummyknit sweatshirts from BRADY Brand, but Vivian promptly invaded the screen in a lovely father-daughter interaction.
“Hey fellas, how are you? Thus, we have terminated Gummyknit “He started the clip, but his daughter interrupted him.
She leaned against her dad, barely visible in the photo, wearing a pink hoodie and grinning broadly. “What the earth is Gummyknit?” she said indignantly.
He began by saying, “Vivi, it’s my favourite new fabric that we produced at BRADY,” before going on to describe the new items and exhort people to check them out and give them as gifts this Christmas season.
